We are an independent, community focused, non-profit organization which exists to promote the study, appreciation and display of the visual arts, particularly the art of the Mt. Washington Valley Region.

Monday - Thursday, 9AM-2PM
The hours are "general" hours. Please call ahead to make sure the Visual Arts Center is open.

HOW TO FIND THE MWV VISUAL ARTS CENTER
Park in the parking lot behind The Met. There is a wing of the building that runs parallel to the parking lot. At the left hand end of the building are two businesses, Fields of Ambrosia and the Old Village Barber Shop. Go in the double red doors to the right of the barbershop and come down the stairs and through the door at the bottom.

2010 MWV Visual Arts Center Exhibit Schedule

The MWVAA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the MWV Visual Arts Center Exhibit Schedule for the remainder of 2010. The group shows are open to current, juried member artists. Each exhibit will have an opening reception – generally the first Friday of each month. Exhibits are on display for approximately four weeks.

Do you need to have your work juried?

Are you a current member of the MWVAA that would like to exhibit in a MWVAA show? Then you may be need to go through the jury process. If you have not exhibited in a MWVAA show in 2007, 2008, or 2009, then you will need to be juried. The next jury date has not been scheduled, but will be some time in early 2010.

Heart Art

HEART ART needs new art supplies - The MWVAA is beginning a new program, "Heart Art" in collaboration with Starting Point. The healing benefits of the arts are well documented. As a way to support the healing of Starting Points’ clients, the MWVAA is pleased to announce the kick-off of “Heart Art” with an art supply drive to collect new art materials to fill art kits for these women and children. Would you like to teach a class for the MWVAA? The MWVAA is in the process of putting together its fall and winter schedules and is looking for teachers in a wide range of mediums for children and adults. The MWVAA would like to offer classes in sculpting, clay, fiber, glass and whatever else you may be able to think of as well as classes in painting, drawing, and photography.
